Join us for this festive 2 hour masterclass as we teach you expert tips and tricks to create your very own Floral Christmas Cake. Not only will you learn to create beautiful Christmas roses, holly leaves and clusters of mistletoe, you will also discover the best way to arrange them, crowning the top of your decadent Cranberry and Orange Liqueur fruit cake with a gorgeous floral crescent. Finally, you’ll craft a berry red sugar bow to adorn the front of your cake before finishing with a glittering golden ribbon.

In this masterclass, you will learn:

  • How to marzipan and ice a Christmas cake

  • How to colour and work with sugarpaste (fondant) and florist paste

  • How to use moulds and cutters to create floral decorations

  • How to make a sugar bow

  • Tips and tricks on how best to arrange decorations 

  • Full recipe and instructions for baking a Christmas cake

You will take home:

  • A beautiful floral Christmas cake that you will have decorated yourself

  • An understanding of how to marzipan and ice a cake

  • New skills in crafting handmade decorations using moulds and cutters

  • Recipe and technique notes to help you recreate your masterpiece again and again

What you need to bring:

We will provide you with all the materials and tools for you to use during the class. You will either need to bring an apron with you or there will be a chance to purchase one of our beautiful Huffkins aprons before the class begins.

Light refreshments, including tea, coffee and snacks from our tearooms, will be served throughout the class.

Boxes suitable for transporting your creation will be provided, however we advise that you might like to bring your own flat bottomed bag.

Due to health and safety regulations, students are required to tie long hair back at all times. 

When to arrive:

Our tutor will be ready to welcome you 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the class. If you arrive earlier you are welcome to enjoy refreshments in our tearoom. Please make sure you leave sufficient time for parking and travel.

Due to the nature of the class, it is difficult for us to accommodate students who arrive late. We will do our best but it may not be possible for you to join the session if you are not ready to start on time. Please see our FAQ page for more detailed parking and travel information.

This is an adult class; the minimum age for students is 16 years old. Children’s classes can be found here.

Please note, this masterclass does not include any baking and will be taught through a combination of demonstrations and hands-on practise. Where required certain elements of the class may be prepared in advance.

Please make sure you check your dates carefully as we are unable to offer refunds on classes.

During checkout you will be able to input the unique code from your voucher and redeem it’s value against the cost of the class. If the value of your voucher does not cover the whole cost of the course you will simply need to pay the remainder.

We ask that you inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements prior to booking this class. In this class you will be decorating a cake that is made using alcohol. Please be aware that this course could also involve working with the following allergens:
